These Garlic Parmesan Wings are the perfect party appetizer or even a great dinner. Cooked in the Instant Pot, full of garlic and parmesan flavor, crispy on the outside and overall a super yummy recipe.
Low carb and completely gluten-free, I promise you can’t eat just one!
Ingredients
Scale
- 28 wings (about a 4lb package)
- 2 tsp salt + 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp pepper + 1 tsp pepper
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 cup water
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 3 tbsp dried parsley
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a small bowl combine the salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the raw wings to a large mixing bowl, and coat with your spice mixture.
- Place a cup of water in the bottom of the Instant Pot, then place the trivet on the bottom. Add the seasoned wings to the Instant Pot and seal the lid. Pressure cook for 6 minutes, but keep in mind that your IP will take about 15 minutes to come to pressure.
- Preheat oven to 525 degrees.
- When the pressure cooking is complete, carefully do a quick release of the pressure. I use a dish towel or oven mitt to vent it otherwise, you can get burnt. Let the IP release for about 2-3 minutes before removing the lid.
- Using tongs remove the wings from the Instant Pot and place them into a large mixing bowl.
- In a small bowl combine melted butter, olive oil, and minced garlic. Pour over the wings and toss.
- Place wings on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Drizzle remaining garlic oil over the wings. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes. Then broil for 2-4 minutes for desired crispiness.
- Combine the parmesan cheese and dried parsley together. When wings are done, take them out of the oven and place them in a bowl. Immediately toss with cheese mixture and serve while still hot.
- For crispier wings, stick them back in the oven for 5 minutes after tossing them in the garlic and cheese.
Notes
- 0.6 NET CARBS PER WING
- Grating fresh cheese is the best option, but pre-grated is ok if that’s all you have
- For easy cleanup, place parchment paper on your baking sheet
- Using a wire rack on top of the parchment paper will help the chicken cook on both sides
- Coating chicken wings in baking powder will help to make crispy wings but only cook in the oven, not the instant pot.
